CALENDAR OF FIESTA EVENTS

(CASH AND / OR PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED FOR THE BEST 3 BOXES IN THE VILLAGE)


SATURDAY JULY 30TH

0900 – 12.00 – Big Fiesta Breakfast & Book Sale – Memorial Hall
Start your Fiesta off with a traditional Big Fiesta Breakfast. What better way to get the Fiesta week off to a flying start than with a monster breakfast prepared by some of the village’s finest chefs. Alongside the breakfast the village hall will abound with opportunities for you to broaden your horizons with books on all subjects under the sun!

14.00 – 17.00  - Fiesta Sandcastle Competition – Main Beach
How big a castle can you and your children build? Come down and find out who is the King of the Castle on the main Beach at 2 p.m. Details to be advised.
10.00 – 18.00  -  Llansteffan Calendar 2012 – Ben Harries Institute
There will be a display of all the pictures entered into the competition for the village calendar. Every year the standard of photography gets better and better! Please come and help us choose who will be on the Calendar for the coming year.

LLANSTEFFAN CALENDAR COMPETITION

Pleae remember that Janine and / or Eiluned need your photographic entries for the Llansteffan 2012 Calendar Competition as soon as possible. Please find below an entry form to be useed for your photographs. Please print a copy and return to Janine Bowen (Ty’r Haf)  or Eiluned Rees (Bryn Hedydd) by 28th July 2011. 19.00 – 21.00  - The Election of Llansteffan’s Mock Mayor – Memorial Hall
Once again, the election of a new Mock Mayor heralds the beginning of a full and hectic week of Fiesta events. Every year the Election gets more exciting and more spectacular. Join us to see if the present incumbent-Norman Cook can keep his seat, or can he be ousted by the range of high calibre candidates attracted to this much sought after post. After the Parliamentary Expenses Scandal is this the last route open to easy money and comfy living? Possible BBQ to follow with details to be advised.

 

SUNDAY JULY 31st

11.30  -  Main Beach  -  Open Air Service
Please join us in this uplifting Open Air Service on the village beach. Embracing all local chapels and churches we love to see a huge congregation on the beach to set the Fiesta week off in the right spirit.
14.00 – 18.00  -  Llansteffan Calendar 2012 – Ben Harries Institute
The display of all the pictures entered into the competition for the village calendar will still be available for your pleasure.. Every year the standard of photography gets better and better! Please come and help us choose who will be on the Calendar for the coming year.
14.00 – 18.00  -  Sports Association Day – Y Morfa

MONDAY AUGUST 1st

19.00  -  22.00 – Coffee Evening  -  Memorial Hall
Please come along to what has always been a very well supported evening with cakes, coffee, calories and much more besides. More details will be announced later.

 

TUESDAY AUGUST 2nd

14.00  -  18.00 –  Junior Tennis Tournament  -  Tennis Courts
Details to be advised nearer the date.

19.30 – 22.30  -  Pub Quiz  -  Castle Pub
The Best Pub Quiz of the Year. Please get there early as seats within hearing distance of the Quizmaster are at a premium. If you don’t want to have to battle it out with the overworked P.A. system, the bad tempered landlord  and the eloquent Mr Meades shouting himself horse, we advise an early arrival to ensure a seat inside!

 

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 3rd

19.30 – 22.30  -  Bingo! Bingo! Bingo! Bingo!  -  Memorial Hall
Yes it’s “Eyes down” time again with the perennial Bingo attracting huge crowds in the Memorial Hall. This was one of the biggest money and people pullers of last year’s Fiesta – let’s beat that this year!!! Again you are advised to get there early to avoid the crush and ensure a good seat. More details will be announced as they become available.

 

THURSDAY AUGUST 4th

17.00 – 22.00   –  Kids Wii / Fun night
Young people’s Wii Tournament has been a great success most years. Who will be the Champion this year? The Tournament will include Wii games and fun for youngsters throughout the area.

FRIDAY AUGUST 5th

14.00 – 18.00  -  Historical Exhibition  -  Ben Harries Institute.
Once again the Historical Society will put on their wonderful displays of village life in times gone by. Details to be announced and confirmed.
14.00  - 16.00  -  Historical Walk – Village
Another memorable walk under the auspices of Eiluned Rees and Heather Chambers. Details TBA.
18.30 – 24.00  -  Fiesta Fun Run + BBQ, Disco and Dance.
The Annual Fun Run to be followed at 8 o’clock by a BBQ, a themed “Gangsters and Molls” Disco with live music supplied by Driftwood. All this and a Bar of course!  More details to be announced in near future.

 

SATURDAY AUGUST 6th

13.00 – 18.00  -  Carnival Procession from Square to Y Morfa
The Carnival is here again. Bring out your costumes, try and get some insured transport, and let’s see Llansteffan once again have a field full of floats – don’t let “elf’n'safety” get you down!!! Many more feild and procession attractions to be announced in very near future.

14.00 – 18.00  -  Historical Exhibition  -  Ben Harries Institute.

Once again the Historical Society will carry on their wonderful displays of village life in times gone by for those not taking their pleasure on the Morfa. Details to be announced and confirmed.

SUNDAY AUGUST 7th

14.00  -  18.00  -  The Cricket Match  -  Y Morfa
The legendary End of Fiesta match between Llansteffan and Llanybri complemented by cream teas and lots of Beer!!
