Mad Mayor makes Massive Boxing Day Splash!!!

Mayoral Madness proved a huge success on this beautiful Boxing Day with near on 100 brave souls in all kinds of fancy dress and bathers plunging into the icy waters on Llansteffan beach. These hardy people were fantastically supported by hundreds of others who came to support the Mayor’s charities. So many people came to view the festivities that for a short while the Green and Car Park became practically inaccessible by car. Roger and Una Davies prepared delicious cawl and tasty mulled wine for all afterwards and must be heartily congratulated for all their efforts in creating an event that I’m sure will become an annual one in the villages’ calendar. Many thanks to all who took part and to those who came to  support the event. Many thanks also to Llansteffan Coastguard who provided health and safety cover plus some memorable comedy moments when waves crashed over their heads!!! Thanks also to Glyn Coupland and Phil Edwards from the Tywi Boat Club who provided and manned the Rescue RIB.
