The Village Stores and Post Office is now under the new ownership of Jamie & Sarah who have made a lively opening to the new look Village Stores with a Delicatessant, and the newly refurbished Croft Restaurant & Bar serving anything from full Welsh breakfast to delicious evening meals!!! Jamie’s speciality is baking and every morning the shop is full of the beautiful smell of fresh baked bread on the counter – they do not stay there long – be warned!!! The Delicatessant is specialising in fresh local produce and already there is a huge array of enticing meats, dairy products and drinks on display. From local farm cheeses, butter and speciality bread to far too scrumptious pies and pasties (!!) from Philip Hughes Butchery, Jamie & Sarah are providing a fabulous choice of quality foods to suit all pockets and taste.
The shop is one of the most important businesses in the village, Jamie & Sarah are busy finding out new ways to push the business in different directions to ensure that it remains a going concern. Without the shop the village would be a much poorer place, and unfortunately it is only when an amenity has disappeared that we actually feel the loss. So, support your local shop where you can, and please tell us if there are things you think that we should stock and we will do our best to fulfill your requirements.
