Welsh is enjoyed as a living language every day. Historians and linguists agree that our language owes its survival largely to the Bible. The acclaimed 16th century scholar, William Morgan, diligently and painstakingly translated the entire Bible, from original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, into Welsh. New translations emerged, based on the pioneering labours of Morgan, enabling us to read the Scriptures, and to sing its words in hymns and arias, in our tongue. A unique collection, the centrepiece a rare first edition Bishop Morgan Bible, is on display in Llansteffan. Come and see how the Bible has a living message for today.
